A-Level Results

Cardinal Newman students, staff and governors are again celebrating some outstanding successes in their A-level results this year with 20% of grades at A*/A, nearly 50% of grades at A*-B, and 72% of grades at A*-C

We are very proud of all our students and their wonderful successes. Students have worked tremendously hard for these results and deserve to celebrate as they now go off to destinations of their choice to pursue a wide range of courses and careers. Many students have exceeded their predicted grades and have extremely bright futures.

Many thanks to all our year 13 students who have contributed so much to our school community over the past few years and who have been fantastic role models for our younger students.

Many thanks also to our staff who have worked tirelessly to help students achieve the best results they can and to the families of our students who have supported them throughout their education. A small flavour of our student successes and their next steps include:

  • Pardeep Sondi who achieved a brilliant 3 As in Biology, Chemistry and Mathematics and who is going to Queen Marys College, University of London to read Dentistry.
  • Emily Hobbs who got a fantastic A, A, A in Biology, Economics and English Literature and who is going to Warwick University to read English Literature.
  • Niamh Kinsella who achieved A* grades in Art and English Literature and C in History and who will be reading English at York University after taking a year out next year to go travelling.
  • Amrit Natt achieved an A in Business Studies, A in English Literature, B in History and is going to read Law at University of Birmingham
  • Matthew McCann who is going to The University of Birmingham to study Mathematics having achieved A*, B, B in Mathematics, Further Mathematics and Accountancy.
  • Emily Cobert who gained an A English Language and Literature and grade Bs in both Media Studies and Photography. Emily will be starting an Art Foundation at Coventry University in September.
  • Tom Keane who is going to Nottingham University to read Geography having achieved A, B, B in Biology, Chemistry and Geography.
  • Kyle Moffat who achieved grade A in Economics, B in Accountancy and B in English Language and Literature and who is going to Nottingham Trent University to read English
  • Olivia McDonagh achieved grade A* in Sociology, B in English Language and Literature and C in Religious Education and used adjustment to gain a place at Warwick to study Sociology.
  • Klaudia Zubrzicka who gained 3 Distinction* in Btec Health & Social Care, Btec Uniformed Public Services and Btec Sport. Klaudia and is going to Lincoln to study Physical Education.
  • Eleanor Douhlas achieved 3 B grades in Drama, English Literature and History and is going to study Drama at Liverpool Hope
  • Beth Mitchell achieved A* in Photography, D* in Btec Sport and B in Religious Education and she will be taking a year out next year to work at Alton Castle before starting a degree in Youth work at Derby University.

Well done to all our wonderful students and we wish them all every success and happiness for the future as they embark on university courses, apprenticeships or take up new careers.
