Year - 7

Head of year 7: Mrs Marano

Welcome to our Year 7 webpage,

Year 7 is an exciting Year group and as a school, we are pleased to be on the journey with you!

Cardinal Newman School can be described as a place of passion. It is a busy and vibrant school with hard-working pupils who are full of integrity. The purpose of our school community is to instil these values in Year 7.

Year 7 is made up of 8 tutor groups led by dedicated, supportive and committed staff. The tutor is the first ‘port of call’ for students who need advice or guidance. We have an embedded pastoral programme that offers information on various challenges that our young people may be faced with in today’s society. This includes online safety, relationships and British Values.

It is important that we set high standards and we encourage high aspirations from our young people, illustrated by our core ASPIRE values. We provide ambitious and exciting opportunities for our year 7’s offering an enriching curriculum, where students develop a love for learning.

Students have already been given the opportunity to ‘own’ their year group by creating their own Year group motto “Life is a ladder, so keep climbing”. They have worked in their tutor groups to ensure that they support others and are living out our Gospel values.

As the Head of Year 7, I am committed to ensuring that all Year 7 students leave school feeling confident & resilient for a wider world beyond school life.
