Cultural Diversity Day

On the Kings Coronation Day, we held a cultural day alongside to celebrate the different cultures that we have at Cardinal Newman. Students were encouraged to attend in Cultural dress to celebrate their heritage and we had a cultural menu in the canteen. Some students also got to take part in an African Dance session as part of the day. The students had a fantastic day.

Cultural Diversity Group: At CNCS we have at least 45 different languages that are spoken within the school. We are proud to represent our multi culturalism and students can join our cultural diversity group to plan and implement activities to celebrate our many cultures. So far this academic year, students have held a joint meeting with Bishop Ullathorne where they discussed the priorities for this academic year and started to plan what they would like to see happen in school to develop students understanding of the many different cultures.

Students then met as a group in December to look at other events that they will be launching soon.

In January 2023, our Year 12 students will be completing anti-racism training which they will then use to go into our MAC Primary Schools to deliver and educate the younger students.
