At Cardinal Newman Catholic School, we know that the transition from primary to secondary school can be challenging, particularly for pupils with additional needs.
As part of our transition programme, the following takes place to support those with SEND:
- Y6 parents/carers coffee morning
- Additional transition visits (with parent/carer)
- Additional transition visits (small groups)
- Additional transition meetings between our SENCO and the primary schools' SENCOs
- Careful consideration of tutor groups and classes
- SEND support packs sent home and available on our webpage
- Keyworker support for those with high needs
